Howard Elliott was reported to liavo said that Archbishop O'Shca had threatened Six James Allen that if legislation was not passed excluding Marist Brothers from military service the Roman Catholics in the public servico would he callccl out on strike. At a meeting last night at Middlemarch Sir James Allen {jcavo an emphatic contradiction to this statement. He said he had telegraphed to Archbishop O'Shca, who had replied: "The reported statement is absolutely without foundation. I never mado any such threat or suggestion."
