FLIGHT TO AUSTRALIA.

Captain Ross Smith, in tho YickersVimy machinc, arrived here at 5-5 p.m. from Delhi, which he left at 9.30 this morning. He was forced to descend lor an hour en route, owiug to engine trouble. He is to leave in the morning for Calcutta, and is very optimistic as to the future. He is accompanied by his brother, Lieutenant Keith femith, and two Australian sergeants, J. M. Beunott and \V. M. Shires. All are well, and keen on the flight. POL'LETS ADVENTURES. LONDON, November 26. The Paris Press announces that Poulet was, forced to make a- landing halt'wav between Karachi and Bombay, owing to engine trouble. [Tho above message is somewhat belated. Poulet readied Delhi on November 24th, Allahabad tho noxt day, and Calcutta on November 26tn. Kcuter's correspondent at Karachi states that the aeroplane in which I'ou;et and Benoist are making their kight is a small Caudron biplane, of somowhat antiquated pattern, with two bO horso-power La lliione engines. 1»appearanco it seems singularly _ inadequate for such a tremendous journey Poulet and Benoist appeared to posses* only the clothes they wore, with a few extra sweaters and wraps in case ol cold. A message from Allahabad summarises Poulet's diary. The diary records struggles against head winds and snowstorms. Leaving Paris on October 14th. he arrived at Rome on October 16th, after comfortable flying. The journey to Salonika was impeded by snowstorms over tho mountains, and on October 20th he was forced to descend at Valona for petrol. Ho was com pel lo by bad weather to remain there for eight days, but he managed to reach ■Salonika on October 29th, and Constantinople on October 31st, after a flight through heavy rain and fog. On No vember Ist ho began his flight across Asia Minor, and crossing tlio Taurus Mountains, reached Adana on the third, but was unable to obtain petrol. He then set out for Aleppo, which he reached on tho following day. His flight across the desert of Mesopotamia followed, and Bagdad was reached on November sth. Leaving there on November 6th, he arrived at Bushire at noon, and at Bundor Abbas on November 7th, where he remained for two days. He reached Chabar on November 9th. In flying to Karachi ho was forced to descend at Bix o'clock in the morning in the desert, three miles from tho coast. Poulot is fixing floats to his machine at Calcutta.] THE KANGAROO. LONDON, November 26. The Kanraroo left Romilly at 9.40 o'clock on Wednesday morning.
