The Whakatane loads at St. Joan for New Zealand, and is to sail in November. SALE OF THE WILLOCHRA. j The well-known steamer Willochra, which has been sold Tjy the Adelaide Steamship j Company to Messrs Furneaa, Withy and Company, charterer! by the Union Steam Ship Company from the Adelaide Company about six years ago. She was employed xn the Sydney-Wellington trade for some time, but just before} the outbreak of war made nevetal trips botwscn San Francisco, "Wellington, and Sydney. She was taken over j by the Admiraltv during the early part of the war, and had a moat interesting career as a troopship. She made m4ny voyage® | from New Zealand with troops to Egypt and I England, and also between East Africa and Cape Town. Later she proceeded to Southampton. with African troops, and was then fitted out for carrying troops from America to France; but on the signing of the armistice ehe was diverted to Rotterdam to convey British prisoners of war to Hull. She m&cta eeveraf trips in this run, and ' then diverted to Copenhagen to carry Bn-1 i tish prisoners to Leith. Owing to on accident to her starboard propeller the \VjI-, lochia was detained at Leifch for five weoks. I ! She arrived at Wellington early Una year from the United with New Zealand troops, and after refitting at Port Chalmers carried German prisoners from j New Zealand and Australia to Rotterdam. The Willochra, which .has been Temunrf ) Jtort Victoria, is a. veesel of 77M tons, and j was built by W. Bewdmoro and Co., Glasgow. in 1913. Her principal dimensions are—Length 411 ft 7in, breadth E6ft 7m, depth 31ft lin.
