A Sydney message says much needed and pseful rain has fallen in the coastal and Highland districts. The fall is lighter, but promising, inland. The Roumanians are evacuating Budapest by the 19th inst. The evacuation of the territories to the westward of the Danube ha 9 begun. The Prince of Wales was charmed with western life in Canada, and has decided to purchase a ranch, hoping to visit it occasionally: The Supreme Council has instructed Marshal Foch to inform Germany that sales of aircraft material to Sweden are contrary to the peace terms. The English Football Association has postponed the question of a tour of South Africa and Australia for further information. Tho Promier of Queensland (Mr T. J. Ryan) has issued a writ for alleged defamation against the Blobart "Mercury." The amount of damages claimed is not stated. ' German newspapers protest that it is useless for Germany to attempt to carry out the Peac© Treaty if France, by threatening „to occupy Frankfort, shows that she is determined to persist in a militaristic policy of violence. Vienna advices state that Count Renner announced that the two coalition parties had agreed on the principles of a constitution for German We6t Hungary, which would join the other lands as an autonomous land. Austria would be organised as'a Federal State. I>aring Sinn Fein raids for arms continue in Southern Ireland. Parties of Sinn Feinners hold up motor-cars, attacking tho soldiers, and even raid private houses where they believe arms to .be found. Nine Sinn Fein prisoners in Mountjoy Gaol, who are hungerstriking, are manacled in their cells.
