A Hnll marine fireman, D. J. Lynch, lately a prisoner of war in Germany, claims" to have set up a world's "ro»jord" for continuous club-swinging. Ho swung clubs for 12 consecutive hours, tlio number of revolutions being recorded as 125,2(50, averaging 73 per minute. This, it is stated, breaks the world's "record" by SO revolutions a minute. Lynch claims to have swung Iho clubs for 30 hours while a prisoner of war, the German doctors describing 'him as a machinp. Sir F. Aston, supervisor in the telegraph offico at Greymouth, has received uotice of his. promotion to be supervisor of tho telegraph office at Invercargill.
