It will be recalled that some tinid ap;o Mr Rhodes gave a strip of land in Rhodes street for tho purpose of widening that street, and reducing the possibility of accidont. Tho work is to b<j done iointlv bv the Tramway Board and the Citv Council, and it is understood that matters are now advanced far e"ouph to allow of tho actual widening being done.
