» ACCIDENT NEAR FLAXTON. Two heavily-laden motor-cars collided near Flaxton about 6 o'clock last night, but the occupants escaped serious injury. Mr Felix Johns, of Fernside, whs returning from Christchurch with two companions, and was preceded bv another car. when they overtook a third car going more slowlv. The car immediately in front of Mr Johns swerved out and passed the third car, thus obscuring the view of the road in front. Mr Johns followed, and failed to see an approaching car, driven by Mr W. Cookslev, Raniiora, and the collision occurred. The cars crashed head on. the front wheels inter-locked, and both imreediatelv overturned. Mrs Cookslev suffered cuts and bruises and shock, while the others were cut and bruised. Both cars had to be left by the roadside. ANOTHER COLLISION. The above is one of many collisions reported in these columns during the past twelve months. Those collisions are certain to cost the car owner a considerable sum unless we take the ri=k under one of our comprehensive policies. The premium is moderate for a policy which insures the carowner asainst loss by collision, causing damage to his car, or claims for damage to persons or their property, and loss by fire.
