COLD STORAGE.
« A HEALTHY POSITION. (By Cable.—Press AMOoift'iin.—Copyright-) (Reutcr'e Telegrams.) (Received June 11th, 7.20 p.m.) LONDON, Juno 3. Sir Joseph Broodbank, presiding at the Cold Storage Association's dinner, said there were now 250 British ships with refrigerating accommodation amounting to fifty million cubio feet. The number of ships and their capacity was greater than evor, in spite of submarine ravages. Mr G. H. Roberts, Food Controller, mentioned that since January, 1818, there had never been lees than eightytwo million tons of produce stored in tho United Kingdom, half of which was meat. The war had revealed that our - greatest woakness had been dependence >n outside sources. We should ascertain ivhcthor, by arrangement with tho Doninions, wo could not overcome this nenace.
