Mr Thomaa Ince, a Californian, has offered £10,000 as a prize for the first flight from' California to Australia. THE ATLANTIC FLIGHT. NEW YORK, May 31. The Washington correspondent of the "New York Times" reports that the N.C.4 flew 3925 nautical miles in p7 j hours 16 minutes in covering the distance from Rockaway to Plymouth. HAWKER DELAYS SECOND ATTEMPT. (Received June 10th, 5.5 p.m.) NEW YORK, June 1. The London corresponded of the "Sun" states that Mr Thomas Sopwith, chairman of the Sopwith Company, told him that Hawker would not make a second attempt to fly the Atlantic this year. ANOTHER ASPIRANT. (Received June lflth. 5.5 p.m.) NEW YORK, Juno 2. Lientenant Locklear, of the United States Air Force, who has recently given exhibitions of air stunts, changing from ono airolano to another while flying, has publicly offered to attempt tho trans-Atlantic flight from Newfoundland to England.
