Cornish, who has been granted six months' leave of absencc, prior to his retirement in November next on superannuation, as he will then have reached tho ago limit of tho Society's by-laws. Meyor, of Christchurch, is a passenger by tho Tofua, due to arrive at Port Chalmers about the 27th inst.
