The matter was neiu over tul next meeting lor turtner consideration. It was decided to write to the City Council regarding a dangerous part of South. Ciescent road. It was resolved to hold monthly card matches, and to hand over all proceeds to a fund for procuring linoleum ior tho Addington Libracy. S.P.C.A. A meeting of tho Executive Committee of the faocioty for tho Prevention of CiueHy to Animals wao held last evening. Present —Messrs J. O. Jameson (chairman), J.- iiParker7 J. Spiller, and C. C. ilciieuar (secretary). The inspector reported having visited fourteen districts during tho monih. and also various lioioe, poultry, and stock sa:es, and race meetings. Four cases of cruelty had been dealt with in the Court, and convictions recorded. Tho la3t consignment ot .-JUO sheep from the Chatham Islands had jeen inspected, and only oue death had oc-.-urred miiongst the whole eoosig:iroent.
