Mr H. J. Crowther, J.P., at tho Magistrate's Court yesterday-, remarked on tlie ease with which second-hand bicycles could be disposed of. A second-hand dealer had to be licensed, and carry out the provisions regulating his trade, but it appeared that anybody could buy or sell a socond-hand bicycle. With a view to stopping thefts of bicycles on tlie streets, some amendment should be made in the la.w in regard to the sale of second-hand cycles. It was a matter which should be looked into by the police.
