SALVATION ARMY'S WAR WORK.

GENERAL RICHARDSON'S

TRIBUTE,

(PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.)

WELLINGTON, May 9

Brigadier-General G. S. Richardson says he would like to place on record, through the press, his high appreciation of the excellent work done by the Salvation Army for the Now Zealand Expeditionary Force. The Salvation Army raised large sums of money for tho soldiers, and this money was judiciously spent in tho interests of tho men. The Salvation Army organisation, through the medium of Major Greene, and various other chaplains, had assisted him (General Richardson) to a very great extent. General Richardson also mentions the value of such institutions as the Hostel in London, tho Hut at Etaplos, and other buildings controlled by the Salvation Army, and says that he is deeply indebted to all the chaplains, and to the Salvation Army, who worked so hard in the interests of the soldiors and their rel actives.

Bolshevism is a tyranny, tho complete abnegation of democracy and of aIT freedom of thought and action. The family of nations needs a common clearing house for non-contentious business. Tl'<» pi' Wplline: theory of

iL'iit day democracy is not conducive to the i-Lion of authority over alien peoples, even if undertaken in thb most idealistic spirit. The most disquieting feature of the German revolution so far has been the ease with which it has been accomplished and the general unanimity with which it has been accepted. Do these propositions make you think, and are you interested in their elucidation ? If so, buy the March number of the "Round Table" and read what it has to say on Bolshevik aims and ideals, the practical organisation of peace, America and World Responsibility, German Democracy at the Cross Roads, as well as on the in the Empire's political arena during the first quarter of the year. The "Round Table" carries no advertisements—it is not run for profit, and is a purely co-operative patriotic enterprise. You nre invited to give it your support, not onlv on mtriotie grounds, but as a sound business proposition. The annual subscription is but 12s (including postige).
