FIRES.
- OUTBREAK AT IvAIAPOI. A six-roomod house owned by Mr J. 3>oran wns totally destroyed by fno, and a four-roomed cottago adjoining, owned by Mr J. Coffey, was gutted, at Ivaiapoi last night. The brigade turned out smartly, but owing to the out-of-aato plant half an hour was wasted before water was got on to the blaze. The,insurance on Mr Coffey's house was £ICO but that on Mr Koran's was not ascertainable'last night. At 7.10 last night the City Fire brigade received a call to £05 Moorhouse avenue, where a fire had started in the kitchen of a six-roomed house owned and occupied by Mr William H. ' P ns. Tno kitchen and contents were severely damaged, and the other house and contents woro sliphtly damaged by smoke. The house nnd contents were insured in the Victoria offieo.
