POWDER-PUFF PROHIBITION.
It was mainly the women, who brought about the enactment of Prohibition in the United States. In a witty speech at Washington's birthday celebration of the London branch of the United States Navy League, Admiral Sims said that if American women carried out their new threat to make the country tobacco-less, as well as "dry," thore would certainly be a men's movement to ban face-powder and decollete" effects. The admiral read some lines on "Topics of the Day at Home," including.— Sow, we're not goia? to trtand for sack onesided staff. tVb're next going to tockle the girl* , powder. puff. We're after short dreesee, low necks, and Ion; hair, So we give you fair treraingr, dear girl*, to beware! ,
