The watersiders refused to work the Jloeraki at Wellington yesterday until 6 p.m., when they commenced discharging operations. The vessel's departure for Sydney has beon postponed' until' Monday; THE IIISHAP TO THE STEADIER BESSA. (PRESS ASSOCIATION* TELEGRAM.) WELLINGTON April 24. ■ Lloyd's survovor (Mr A. Walker) examined tho eioamer JBessa to-day. The. only damage found was on tho port side of No. 1 hold above the ballast tank. Thexo was no water i" in tho other holds. A few plates had been slightly dented, thirty rivets started, and saveral frames fractured. As a precautionary measure two divers have started to make an examination of the whola exterior of the hull. It is expected that the temporary repairs will take about ten- days to complete. The Norwegian Consul (Mr A. W. Newton), as chairman, end Captains Petersen (Wellington), Lindberg (of the barque Titania), and Nystrom (of the ship Transocean), as assessors, held a Consular Court to-day and heard the evidence of tho officers and men on duty at the time of the mishap, and also examined the log book and checked tho ship's course. • From the evidence adduoed, tha Court concluded that tie ship was outBide Chaffer's Passage and did not stop when the rock, was touched.
