THE PICTURES. A military secret service picture-drama, entitled ' "Sacrifice.," starring Margaret I/lmgton, was presented at'the Harbour Light* Pic* lure Theatro last evening, and will be repeated this afternoon and evening. To-mor-row Margaret Clark will appear in an Artcraft picture, "Prunella," and on Monday afternoon and evening D. W. Griffiths 3 great war picture, "Hearts of tho W orldj will be screened. DIAMOND HARBOUR. The Lyttelton Borough Council will shortly commence to make further improvements at 1 Diamond Harbour 6ottl©raoiit» Although much has already be«n done to make the resort popular among holiday-makers, there aTe still several matters which urgently call for attention in the interests Of both visitors and residents. The sports ground, which has been neglected for several years past, i? to bo levelled and made available for cricket and football matches, ahri other sports. Two pavilions, one with accommodation for men and one for women, will be erected near the enclosure, the former on tho northern side and the latter on the western 6ide. A useful shelter shed will be erected near the Godley House gates. The building will contain two rooms, in one of which coppers will be placed for the use of campers. The other Vrill be used as a etore-room for cups and saucers, teapot®, kettles, etc., which may bo hired by picnickers for a small charge. A large conoreto tank will be constructed beneath this building, and this will be filled during the winter with water from tho mam reservoir, and in the summer months will be replenished with rain-water drained from the roof of the shed. Two old shelter sheds on the recreation ground immediately above the jetty are "to be demolished and new eheds built on another site at tho north side of the settlement. . A welcome innovation will bo a number of seats, which it is intended to er.ect in various convenient places. Rough tables will also be erected in suitable places for the convenience of the public. The fences surrounding the Godley House grounds will bo readjusted in order to enlarge the public park by adding to it a section of upon which is growing a number 01 large fir trees. "When these improvements have been effected Diamond Harbour will doubtless become one of the most popular of the Lyuelton Harbour resorts.
