AUCKLAND, March 12. The management of the Waihi Gold Mining Company,'in'a statement with reference to the pro3ont trouble, state? that after the strike of 1912 a iinion was formed entirely of miners and batr tery hands who favoured the settlement of disputes by arbitration; as opposed to djj-ect acton by the Federaton of ; Labour. Later, the origipal members of . the union left to take up otheir workj ; and new members came in. The policy' ! of the union was unchanged till, ill-' 1916, thpre was a majority sufficient tpi join the Federation of labour.
