It is stated that Dr. Bowie lias ghretf notice of his intention to resign the position of assistant medical superintendent of the Dunedin Hospital.
Alderman R. W. Richards, who ha* been elected Lord Mayor of Sydney was Town Clerk of Dunedin from tha end of 1905 until early in 1911, whoa ho_ returned to Sydney. This is tho tlnrd time that he has been called to tho mayoral chair of Sydney.
Mr F. G. Crampton, who for the pas# five years has been stationmnster ati Culverden, has resigned from tho Railway Department- in order to follow farming pursuits, having secured a farm near Plpasant Point, South Canterbury Mr Crampton has spent 21 years in tho service of the R-aihvay Department

Lioutennnt-Colonel D. B. Blair N.Z.S.C.. -who has just returned to New Zealand after over four years' active son-ice, has been appointed assistant military secretory to MajorGeneral Robin. Prior* to tho war Lieutenant-Colonel Blair was ridjiAant of the Ist Mounted Rifles (C.Y.C.).
At last night's meeting of tte Spreydon Borough Council, a voto of sympathy was passed to the relatives i of the late Mr T. I, Smnil. The " Mayor stated that Mr Smajl's labour fpr many years had beep one of love. He had to a great oxtent hidden his light under a bushel, but his work had • been carried out in a manner that had ' endeared himself to all.
Captain 0. B. Wheeler, N.Z.5.0., who was formerly Group Commander for tho North Canterbury Group, and returned to New Zealand recently, after nearly four years' service with the Imperial Forces in France, has been appointed Area Officer for Banks Peninsula and surrounding country, and Adjutant of tho Ist (Canterbury) Regiment. He took up his dutes on Tuesday. Lieutenant S. J. Sampson, previously Adjutant to the Ist (Canterbury) Regiment, hag been appointed to qssist Lieutenant Bramwell, officer-in-charge of the Christchurch offico of tho Sirk and Wounded Soldiers' Department.
