SWIMMING

OPAWA CLUB'S CARNIVAL. Tho Opawa Club held an inter-club swimming carnival at tho Municipal Tepid Bath last evening. A large crowd was present, and some fino racing was witnessed, the majority of the events providing close finishes. Mr P. Menzies acted as referee, while Messrs Low, Sutherland, and Bmnsden were 'h<? judges. Messrs F. Holmes, AT. 13. Simes, a-nd A. Calvert acted as timekeepers, and Mr E. F. T. Eldridge as starter. The following aro the results: — 100 yds Opawa Club Ladies' Championship —Miss E. Shand I,' Miss K. Bristed 2, Mies F. Grubb 3. Miss Shand led throughout, although Misa Bristed was never far behind, being eventually beaten by lsec, the timofl being 86sec and 90sec.
