The Islington Handicap has some speedy pacers engaged there'in amongst them being Jfhn Dillon, Lord Minto Beckom, Chid, Cora Dillon, Trix Pointer, and 'Albert Cling. Both the mile races have drawnuseful lot of light hariiesd horses. For his win at Aahburton, Albert Cling has 'W penalised one eecond in,the Islington Handicap at Canterbury Park. The' W«stport Trotting Club's Slimmer Meeting, which was postponed irom December; 26th, will be held today. The Manawatu Trotting Club ..will hold Us Annual Meeting to-day at Palmorston North. Although the fields are. not large, r should be some interesting racing. Canterbury stables are only moderately resented. but the presence of Peter Mac, ' Koraki Nancy Stair. In.consequence of their wins at Ashburton the following horses have incurred penalties for their engagements at the New Brighton Trotting Club's Meeting:—Albert Cling penalised 4sec in the Maco Memorial Handicap, Frank Tracey penalised Usee in the Farewell Handicap.
