Mr A. W. Samuels defeated Mr Stephen Gwynn for Dublin University by a large majority.

On Mr Samuels being appointed Sol:citor-Ger.«ral, he was returned unopposed (Oct. sth, 1917).

Sir P. Magnus (Coalitionist) defeated Mr Sidney Webb (Labourite) for London University, by a majority of 6G9.

The 1910 figures were:—Sir P. Hagnus (U.) 2579, Sir V. Horsley (L.) 1857.
