OLD BOYS' AT THE FRONT.

HIGH SCHOOL GREETINGS

The Christchurch Boys' High School has made it a point since the beginning of the war not to forget its old boys at the front. A copy of each magazine aa it is issued is sent to every old boy with the forces, and each Christmas everyone has received a parcel of comforts, to assist in providing which the present boys have foregone their sports and school prizes. This year in addition to the luxuries, each parcel contains a very neat, little Christmas card, the design of which cannot but bring back memories to the old boy of his Alma Mater. The cover is neatly executed in black and blue, the school colours, and bears the words, "Warm Christmas and New Year greetings from the old School." A fine photograph of the. school occupies one of the insido leaves, and opposite it in verse are the lines, "Altiora Peto! Altiora Petol Honour the school that keeps the rule, Altiora Peto," and at the foot of the page the inscription, "Boys' High School, Christchurch. N.Z., Xmas, 1918." "Altiora Peto" (I seek higher things) is the school motto The card is in booklet, form, and the pages are threaded by a-black and blue ribbon arranged in a neat' bow at the front.
