THREE RECEIVE TWO YEARS' HARD LABOUR. Several soldiers in Feathereto'n Camp lia«"C been tried by District Court Martial recently fin varying chargcs. Tho ficntcncca announced include tho following: — 6039G Pte. T. Cooks. Details; found guilty of "deserting his Majesty's 6crvicc and disobeying a lawful command." Sentenced to two yearn' imprisonment with hard labour. 32859 Pie. G. E. Quartermain, Details, and 93013 Pte. L. G. Jes3up, Details; found guilty cf "disobeying in such a. manner as to show a wilful defiancc of authority a lawful command given personally by his superior officer in tho execution of his office." Both sentenced to imprisonment with hard labour for two years. 83790 Pte. J. H. JCixon, Details; found guilty of "disobeying in euch a manner as to show a wilful "defiancc of authority a lawful command given personally by his superior officer in the execution of his office." Sentenced to imprisonment with hard labour for one year.
At Trentliam Camp the following sentences have been imposed: — G3269 Pto. F. L. Sutton, Detail (late E Company, 31st Reinforcements;, and 79918 Pte. *C. S. Shepherd, Details (lato F Company 13rd Reintorcements); found guilty cf dtserting his Majesty's scrvicc. Both sentenced to imprisonment with hard labour for 112 dayi.
