THE FUNERAL. Dr. Erwin (Christchurch), assisted by the R«v. J- H. Thomson (Waiau). The Scriptures were read by the Rev. J. H. Thomson, and the address (a most feeling one), commitment, I and prayers, by the R©v. Steele, Miss Zinckgraf, Mies Emily Rutherford, Charlie Webb, Mr and Mrs G. L. Rutherford (Connemara), Mr and Mrs E. J. Johnson (Vancouver), Mr and Mrs Eric Russell (Victoria), Mr B. Perry, and Miss Easther (Spotswood). In the House of Representatives yesterday afternoon, a motion of sympathy with the relatives of the late Mr A. W Rutherford, a former member of the .douse, was passed. Before the armistice celebrations commenced at Parnassus on Tuesdav, tho chairman (Mr McFarlane) macfe feeling reference to the loss suffered bv the district in tho death of Mr A. W. Rutherford, senr., and as a mark of respect to the memory of the deceased and of sympathy with tho relatives, all present stood with bowed heads for a few seconds. •«.
