THE AMERICAN ELECTIONS.
A REPUBLICAN MAJORITY IN THE. HOUSE. (Australian tad N.Z, Cab!* Associativa.) (Received November 7th, 6.15 p.m.) WASHINGTON. November 6. Partial returns of the. elections show that 219 Republicans, 183 Democrats, 1 Socialist, and 1 Independent have been elected to the House of Representatives, which is definitely Republican. The Senate returns are still doubtful. (Received November 7th, 8.5 p.m.) WASHINGTON, November 6. Safe Republican majorities in bo tit Houses of Congress are claimed by the National Committee. The Democratic leaders. Mr Kitchen and Senator Simmons, have been re" elected. Turnovers came in from New York, Maryland, Illinois, Kansas, and Pennsylvania.
