The readings taken at th© Aehburton Domain weather station at 9 a.m. yesterday were:—Barometer, 29.61; thermometer, max. 3d min. 34. Kain 0.16 in. Fioet 4deg. The meteorological observations taken »t the Ashburton Domain weather station for the month cf October were as follows: — Highest barometer 30.27 inches, on October Ijth; lowest, 28.86, on the 15th; highest maximum, 73 degrees, on tlio 18th; lowest, 4t- degrees, on tho 04th; highest minimum, 51 degrees, on the loth; lowest, 28 degrees, on tho 11th and '25th. The rainfall was 1.41 inches aa compared with 1.57 inches for Octobor last year. .Frost was registered on nine mornings, tho maximum being 11 degrees on the 10th. There were 194| hours of sunshine. SUMMARY AND FORECAST. Atmospheric -oressuro has incroaeed in the north, but fallen to-day in the south. Moderate to strong southerly winds, have given placo to freshening westerlies, with changeable weathor.
