A public meeting last night passed fk resolution in favour of increasing the education vote to £3,000,000, offering greater inducements to young peoplo to enter tho teaching profession, ana also that teachers' sauries generally should bo in keeping with their work. WELLINGTON, November 5. A Dominion conference of School Committees' Associations will bo held herd on the 26th inst., coincident with tho Education Boards' conference. Among the questions for discussion . are . free school 'tooks and requisites, increasodß payment for teachers, increased capitation, and other educational matters which it is claimed call for reform. '
