KATAPOI

The fortnightly meeting of the Kaiapoi Borough Council was held last night. Present—The Mayor (Air J. H. Black well), Cra. W. Doubleday, H. Mcintosh, R. Dunn, L. Kvans, and L. Fuldaeth.'

A motion of sympathy with Cr. Bryden in the death of hie father was carried.

A letter was received from the Rangiora County Council regarding the state of the Cam bridge. Tho matter was referred to the Works Committee for a report. An appeal from the Xavy League for support wee held over till the next meeting.

The borough surveyor reportf.l that two miles of the old gas main had been takeu up. The Finance Committee reported receint-a £473 13a Bd, bank debit balanco £577 10s Id. It was decided to pav the men-employed in taking up the gas ma.li lis per day.
