The weather waa dull, but cloudy, for tho eecond day of the Victoria- Racing Club's Meeting, and there waa aa enormous attendance, including Genor-.il Pau arid the membe re of tho French Mission. The going waa excellent. Shadow Dancer won the Hurdle Race in great style. Lingerie finished eleventh, and Kilfoyle twelfth in the HighWeight Handicap. Mr Ernest Clarke provided first and eecond with two of his own breeding- in tho Nursery Handicap. Eel!and was scratched for the Melbourne Cup at 2.14 p.m. Desert Gold was fairly well up at a mile and a half, while Finmark waa near tho middle of the field till they reached the turn. Night watch won brilliantly in record time, running tho la3t half-mil® in 49£eec. The favourite, King Offa, met e-ome trouble at the ri7er, -and finished fifth.
