CITY CHEMISTS EXTEND THEIR BUSINESS.
•■ ■ ♦ BARRETT'S PHARMACY, OXFORD TERRACE, PURCHASED BY ' BARNETT and CO. As our reporter was proceeding alone Oxford terrace, near the Hospital yc£ terday afternoon, his attention was at- N tracted by the bustlo at Barrett's oldestablished pharmacy. Lorrymen were carefully unloading packages of various sizes. Inside the pharmacy a transformation was going on. New stocks were being added to the shelves, and everything brought up to date. On making enquiries, the Pressman learned that Messrs'Barnett and Co., the well-known Cathedral square chemists, had taken v over the business lately owned by Mr - Barrett, and that they were bringing / everything up to the same high, standard of perfection as rules in their Cathedral square establishment. When questioned, Mr Barnett stated that they had acquired this business, and as they were fortunate in having large stocks of many drugs that ore now scarce, in fact in some cases unprocurable, they were completely re-6tocking Barrett's Pharmacy, and intended to conduct it in accordance with the highest standard of pharmaceutical practice. Continuing, Mr Barnett said; "Wo make it a strict rule to employ no boy labour in the important task of making . ' . up medicines. Only the services or qualified chemists are utilised by us for that important duty, and of course wo will here, as we do in Cathedral square,. always return to our clients their pre- - scriptions-with their medicines." To people living in this vicinity an up-to-date pharmacy conducted on the latest lines'. will be a great boon, and both old and new customers will find Barrett's Phfflv macy, now oonducted by Barnett and Co., the means of bringing to them the | resonfcee of the leading firm of chemists i of this city. 0
