e Tho Waimakariri Harbour Board met'iaat evening. Present —Messrs \Y. Doublcday (chairman), J. Barnard, L. Evana, T. Kectloy, J. Mcintosh, and J. Wright. The harbourmaster reported that the approximate depth of water on the bar was Bfl. On October 26th. and 27th very heavy eeas broke over the north epit into the river, and _filled in the channel ecoope'.l through the spit. A motion of sympathy woa passed with Mia H, Harper and family." The Finance Committee reported as follows: —Receipts £23 3s id, bank credit balance £26 10a 3d. It was decidcd to cut another channel through the north epit at the first opportunity.
