CHURCH ANNIVERSARIES.
+ ST. MARY'S, HALSWELL.. Thero was a large gathering in the Hals*.vcl! Public Hall ou Thursd y evening to commemorate the fifty-fifth anniversary of tho Anglican Church of St. Mary's, Halsweli, the vi:ar, the Rev. C. C. Oldham, presiding. Pleasant reminisccnces ■were given by different vicars who have been trom timo to time installed in the parochial district. The first speaker, Canon Bean, who had charge from 1892 to 1895 when St. Mary's was attached to tho Addmgton. parish, spoke fcelinsrly of the old faces who "vvero now missing amongst the number, but who had been earnest chcrdi workors. Chaplain Frank Dunnage gave a good idea of. the existing conditions in England, and of the soldier's l'fe in Sling Camp. He ex-pres-ed his Measure at bMng amongst his old parishioners once mire, and said that he expe-ted to leave for the front again in wee':s. The Rev. H. "Willia-rs. the first vicar, also addressed tho audience. A musical programme was provided In- Mrs Guinpy, Miss Xnnoer, E. Alexander, Wenr. Messrs IHcbe, Cooper, Lund. Hunmbell, Adnams, and Highman.
