i STREET COLLECTION AND FAIU TO-J>Ai\ The street collection and fair, pro- : moted by the Canterbury branch of th( Navy League, which is part of itsappea] on behalf of the widows, fatherless children, and other dependants of Great Britain's naval heroes, will be held today—Navy Bay. The fair will be conducted at several stalls in Cathedral square, the stalls comprising produce, horticultural, cakes, sweets, books and china, variety, and novelty; a periscope will also bo a featurq of the fair. At noon and at 5.15 p.m. there will bo open-air concerts ia the Square, at which items will be contributed by G°P cer t Party, the members of f ask s Jubilee Singers, and Fuller's Opera Houso Company, the entertainbeing under the direction of J>avid Schloss. The Sumner LifeDoat Brigade will have tlieip lifeboat at the southern side of Cathedral square. ?vr n ?? u , t^G , Mayor of Christchurch (Mr H.
