The British havo smashed through the Austrian lino> on the Piave. Tho Allies have captured 15,000 prisoners on the Piave. The Allies hare, captured Conegliano, and the whole lino has been advanced. VICTORY DEVELOPING RAPIDLY. LONDON, October 29. 'I he British and Italian victory is developing on a great scale. Advancing on a forty-six mile.front, largo bodies of troops" and artillery crossed the bridges of the Piave, maintaining a heavy pressure on the enemy, who has been* driven back ten miles from tho river. Cablo Association.) LONDON, October 29. A British and Italian official message states: Tho Tenth Army's attack is progressing most satisfactorily. On the right tho Eleventh Italian Corps has reached tho lino of Roneadelle, Ormello, Tempio and ltai, and in tho ccntro the Fourteenth British Corps is in touch in the neighbourhood of Rai, and has reached tho lino of Bonoto-Da-main, one kilometre soutli of Borgovilln. The Milanese on the loft and the Eighteenth Italian Corps attacked in a northerly direction, and are progressing well. All corps report further captures of prisoners and guns. An Italian communique states: — The battle continued fiercely throughout the night, and fully developed during October 28th. On the front of tho Twelfth and Eighth Armies we maintained and extended our bridgehead, despite very lively opposition. Eastward of Grave di Papadopoli the enemy gave way to attacks by the Fourteenth British and the Tenth Italian Army Corps. Wo broke through the enemy linos and liberated Borgomalanotte, Tezzo, Raimicliaelo di Piave, Cimadolvo. St. Polo di Piave, and Ormelle, and entered St. Lucia di Piave and Vazzolo. (Received October 30th, 9 p.m.) LONDON, October 29. A British-Italian official message states: — Tho enemy's resistance is weakening considerably. Our cavalry and infantry forced a passage of the Montecano. Several hundred prisoners were captured. THE VICTORY OF THE PIAVE. (Australian and N.Z. Cablo Association.) (R«uter'B Telegrams.) (Received October 80th, 7.40 p.m.) LONDON, October 29. An Italian official message states: — The Piave battle is continuing victoriously. The Allies are in firm possession of the left bank from tho slopes of Valdobbiadene to the Treviso-Oderzo railway. We carried the heights of Vnldobbiadene. The French captured Monte Pianarcb. We hold the plain of Sernaglia. The Eighth Army carried the heights of Colfosco and entered Susengana. The Tenth Army, advancing irresistibly, passed tho advanced guards to the left of Monticano. Numerous guns have been captured. OF yesterday's prisoners, 4000 have been counted, and many more arc coming in. On the loft bank of tho Ornic wo havo occupied Alano di Piave, and taken several hundred prisoners. A GREAT BATTLE. ALL OBJECTIVES GAINED. (Reuter's Telegrams.) (Received October 31st, 1.10 a.m.) LONDON, October 30. The British and Italian Armies are attacking on a front of twenty-five miles and are opposed by forty-five Austrian divisions, comprising 600,000 troops. The Allies have crossed the Piave on the whole front from the TrevisoOrderzo railway to Valdobbiadene, and made an average advance of over four miles. The Italian command considers that tho battle is going splendidly. All objectives havo been gained.
