FOOTBALL.

THE ASSOCIATION GAME. OTAGO v. CANTERBURY. ] At English Park to-day the eecond Brown Shield match will come up for decision, Otugo being the challengers. The team arrived by the southern express on _ Thureday. Hard training has been indulged in by them for several weeks, and Dunedin critics are unanimous in their opinion that tho coveted trophy will find a new abode. Whether they will succeed where Wellington failed is a matter of conjecture, but the public will l)« well repaid for their patronage if a similar exhibition of first-class football is provided. The personnel of Canterbury's team has undergone one alteration, and this should assure a more robust intermediate line. Quiet training under the supervision of Mr Tankard in the Y.M.C.A. gymnasium _ has benefited lie team, and they are quielty confident of retaining possesion of the Brown Shield.
