WATERSIDE WORKERS' PROTEST.
. » At the sitting of the confereflW of the Watersido Workers' Federation of Australia, which sat in Adelaide recently the prohibitionists got a nasty setback. The question of federation was on the agenda paper, but the conference throw out the proposal with mucn vigour, if not indignation, and embodied their sentiments m .the following resolution, which was earned unanvrsously: "That this conference of tho • "Watersido Workers; Federation of Australia protests against the adoption, or war-time prohibition as an unjustifiawa restriction of tho liberty of the workers, and an unwarrantable interference with tho accustomed pleasures of the moderate, and is further of opinion so drastio a measure is calculated to serio'usly dislocate many important industries 'and cause unemployment and distress to many thousands of fellow-Workers. That this resolution bo forwarded to the Act-ing-Prime Minister and Stato Premiers."
