ATHLETIC CLUBS PROTECTION.
♦ ANNUAL REPORT. The 2Slh annual report of tho Canterbury Athletic Cluto' Protection Association states that, notwithstanding the adverse circumstances arising out of war conditions, club 3 are to bo congratulated on their efforts to carry on; it i 6 pleasing to note that no withdrawals from the Association have laken place during tho past year. With tho afhiiation of the Chxistchurch Golf Club the membership of the Association stands at 38 clubs. It is recommended that the suspension of the rule governing the annual subscription be continued for the ensuing year. Tho names of 20 defaulters were submitted to tho committee and were dealt with aa follows:—Seven were induced to settle without final action being taken, seven were held in abeyance, and six were finally posted. Four settlements of previous years' postings were xnado, tho total settlements being 11, aggregating £14 23. The balance-sheets shows a balanoe to credit of £28 100 lOd; there are no liabilities.
