A FINE RECORD.

1 13tu REGIMENT AND THE WAR. A fine record in connexion with the war has been established by the 13th (North Canterbury and Westland) Regiment. Up till March last there had enlistod with the Expeditionary Force 22 officers and 1054 non-com- ' missioned officers and men. Of these there had been killed in action or died of wounds or disease five officers and > 213 non-commissioned officers and men, whilst there had been discharged from thi* Expeditionary Force owing to wounds and sickness seven officers and ] £92 non-commissioned officers and men. ! Of 25 officers of the regiment at the outbreak of war, 22 went on active service, the remaining three being unfit, one of whom is doing duty with the Military Service Board. Of seven officers returned to New Zealand, four are now doing staff duty.
