AN APPEAL FROM MONTENEGRO. (By Cable.—Press Association.—Copyright ) (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) LONDON, September 9. The Montenegrin authorities have issued a pathetic appeal on behalf of their fellow-countrymen, who are threatened with extinction by famino and enemy persecution. The country is denuded of foodstuffs, and tho enemy is ruthless in its treatment of tho Montenegrins, not even sparing women and children. A considerable part of tho population is hiding in tho mountains. AN UNOPPOSED ADVANCE. (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) (Router's Telegrams.) (Received September 10th, 7.15 p.m.) LONDON, September 9. A British official message from Salon ica states: — "In tho Struma Valley the Grcok outpost line advanced unopposed to the general lino Kakaraska-Kalendra-Haa-natar."
