Doyle at tho Sehvyn ri\er, was received from tho surveyors, and at was decided to complete tho purchase A letter was received from tho Selwyn County Council, expressing regret that the Eliesmere Council had not been consulted in tho matter ot granting a supply of race water for tho irrigation of the government luccrxtc plot at Banksidc. Another letter was received from tie same body to the effect that Uio covering of a water race at Dunsandel had been autnorisod, the two bodies toshare. tho cost. The Commissioner or Crown Lands complained that an obstruction, erected by Mr j£. c. Inwood was causing flooding on part of' the Homebrook estate at South bridge. It was decided to ascertain tho legal positlCrs. Storry and McEvedy were asked to look into adraicago matter at Taumutu, in which a number of residents were concerned. An application from Mr V. B, Cunningham for the cleaning of a dram from the Brookside school corner to tho Presbyterian C.iuich, bridgo re-decked a* «°on as possible.
