OBITUARY.

The death of Mr John Albert Henton, which took place at Palmerston North on Holiday, removes one 'of the oldest settlors of' the Manawatu district. The late Mr Heaton, who was born m Lowell, Massachusetts, 73 years ago, arrived in New Ze&lnnd in 1802, and settled in the Rangitikei. For some years he carried on farming, and later was in business at Bulls as a general storekeeper. Afterwards lie removed to Palmerston, and had resided there for tho past 39 years. He is survived by a tfidow, one son, and threo daughters.
