Already there Lave been thousands of deaths, and the medical service has broken down. Two cases have occurred in the Royal household in Sofia. GERMAN FOOD RATIONS. AMSTERDAM, August 1. A Berlin telegram states that the flour ration was to be increased on August Ist. A meatless week starts on August 19th, seven pounds of potatoes being substituted. GERMANY'S INCREASING TROUBLES. (By Cable.—Press Association.-^Copyright.) (Received August 2nd, 8.40 p.m.) LONDON, August 1. There is great friction between the Turks and the Germans in the Caucasus. The latter are trying to prevent the Turks from securing control of the Baku oil' wells. : There is evidence of growing discouragement among the Bulgarians. This is chiefly due to German exploitation of the food supplies. There is also increasing hostility towards the 1 Turks, and general war weariness. A . mutinous spirit is prevalent among the Bulgarian troops. •
