CANTERBURY No. 1. The First Canterbury v Military Service j Board, comprising Mr JS. Evans (chairman), Mr 0. E. Bobbins, and Captain Pilkington (military repreaentativo), sat at RaEgiora yesterday. The chairman, when the Board was seated, said a peculiar position had arisen, tho Board not being fully constituted, as one of its members, Mr J. D. Millton, was absent owing to illness. A3 decisions must bo given by a full Board, no decisions could be given in , any cases heard, and only cases from a dia- 1 tance would be heard that day. After being submitted to th® full Board, decisions in j writing would bo given. _ • The following appeals were adjourned for consideration:—F. Brown (Amberley), H. G. Martin (Culverden), J. (fbess association telegram.) AUCKLAND, July 21. Tho Military Service Board granted a number of appeals by dentists in various parts ! of New Zealand, some of which had been adjourned. ! Mr Carter, representing the Dental Association, said tho appeals were made on a proportion basis—oni dentist for every 3000 people, and the Association was getting ,to that basis now. All tho dentists called in Christchurch would bo ??pealed for.
