ADDINGTON LIBRARY. A meeting of Addington residents was held I in the Addington Library laet night, to ap- ' point a committee 'of management. The Mayor of Gkriatchuroh (Mr H. Holland) presided, and Cr. E. Peek and the town olerk (Mr H. R. Smith) were also present. . A j lengthy discussion ensued in; connexion ,wiO> the vote of £60 granted by tho City Council [ to the library, and several speakers painted out the inadequacy of the amount, in .view !of the fact that were were no books. The I Mayor stated that the Library would be only j entitled Jto the maximum voto of £100 when I there wore 200 subscribers at 5a each. Further : discussion ensued as to whether the City Council should be approached for on addij tional £50, or an attempt made to raise a I loan of £100, but nothing definite was ar- ■ rived at. The following committee was elect- : ed to manage the Library, subject, to. the approval.of the City Council:—Messrs J. Mof-, i fat, J. T. Bobbins. W. A. S-heldon, W. Pick- ' ering, H. L. Jackson, H. Bonnett, E. Downing, 6. A. Gyde, T. Clothier, T. Tilleshort, R. Butterworth, R. Nairn, E. Parlane, and •J. D. Cade. A vote of thanks to tho Mayor I concluded the proceedings. '
