RED JERSEY APPEAL.
Extract from Mary Booth's diary: U night—"The stillness of tho ward, •ha restless men trying to sleep". Tho nights are so long for some—as one nuin nn t it, 'I feel sometimes as if they will , never end.' Tho moro fortunate already asleep are often muttering or aoahing ns a result of shattered nerves,' and I feol, in the dim light, as if I can almost see the shadows of the loved ones who long vto be there—nav, who are there in spirit —guarding the sick bed with love and prayor. The wife, the mother, tho betrothed, or the sister, soothing the feverish brow, and whispering words of comfort." Some day there will be an end to the suffering and tho dying in this war, bat that end is not now.
