The "Workers' Union received a from Sir William Frascr, Minister of Public Works, on Saturday evening, stating that he could not meet the men's demand to re-employ the bov Fell. A mass meeting was held yesterday, when indignation was expressed at the treatment the mon -were weiring from the Minister. It was unanimously resolved to stand firm and fight tho question to a finish. A deputation of two delegates from the union—Messrs Kidd and Bebaa will go to Wellington to place the men's side of tho dispute before the Minister. Financial assistance is being sought from other unions.
