OBITUARY.
MR T. DIXON. Mr Thomas Dixon, whose dt«ath oc- j enrred on Thursday. was born in Tyrone County. lre;and, in IS"- 1 !', ;ind arrived in Lyttelton in 1863 in the ship D. G. Fleming. For nearly three years lie lived in I'hristchurch. and "then started fanning in the F.llesmere district, settling at Dovleston. Ho farmed there micco-ssmillv for a number of years. Mjli-rquently retiring and settling in Christchuroh. He loavea widow, two sons, and two daughters, j Ml; AKC'illliA 1-1) Al-KXANDKH. Mr Archibald Alexander, whose death is reported from IJakaia. was a native of Glasgow, Scotland. He arrived in New Zealand in 1574 and settle.l in Ihe l.eeston district. After seventeen year-; In- moved to TCakaia, where tie was farming til! bis death. Mr Alexander enjoyed good health up to about twelve months ago. but had since been prruticaUy confined to Ills bed. He loaves a widow, three sons, and three daughters to mourn :li.y.r ] loss. His second son, Private Freu Alexander, went, away with the Main Body. He was twice wounded in France, but is again on active service. Mr Edward Leote, for 2S years in charge of the lithographic department of the "Hawho's Bay Herald." died at Napier on Wednesday, in hi,? oOtli year. The deceased was a native cf London, but the greater part, of his life was spent in Australia and New Zealand, and he had worked for varying periods in Melbourne. Sydney. Thmeclin. Christcliureh. Nelson, Wellington, and Napier. He was predeceased bv his wifo some four years ago. but leaves two sons to mourn their loss.
