BORNSIDE MARKET. (PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGKAM.) DUNEDIN, January 23. At Burnsidc to-day 159 fat cattle were yarded, a large proportion bong prime bullocks and heifers. The uaje opened on a par with last weci* 6 rates, "but prices easod as the salo progressed. Primo bullocks made lip to £21 ss, medium to 10s, ana prime heifers to £15 17s 6d. There was a Rood yarding of store cattle,' which sold at advanced rate.?. Very few dairy cows were forward, and prices were firmer. A small yarding ol calves sold at late rates. Fat Sheep—A considerable portion of the yarding was prime quality wethers and ewes. The sale opened at about last week's rates, but eased as the salo progressed to the extent of Is 6d to 2s per head. Fat Lambs—At the beginning of the sale priccs showed a rise of about 2s on last week's rates, but towards the end lambs were almost unsaleable. Pigs—There .was a moderate yarding. Prices for fat pigs showed a Might- decline on last week's rates. There was a fair yarding of storns, and prices were on a par with late rates. PRICE OF SCHEELITE. (PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) WELLINGTON, January 23. The Government has received a cable messago stating that the Imperial Government is now prepared to increase the price of schcelite delivered ex warehouse, London or Liverpool,. as from January Ist, 1918, to 60s per unit for ore on the basis of <35 per cent, tungstic acid, less 1 per cent, brokerage; and to compensate .New Zealand producers for increased/freight, war risk and insurance charges, estimated at 3s lOd per unit. The "old returns from the Auckland district for 1917 totalled £740,534, as compared with £714,148 in 1916, an increase of £-27,388. Th© output in 1915 was £782,032.
