—.—« RECHABITE LODGE. The annual meeting of the St. Albans | Rechabite Tent took place on "Wednesday j evening. Officers were installed as follows: —C.R., Bro. A. Martin; P.K., Bro. H; N. Dollan; secretary, Bro. A- D. Haseall; treasurer, Bro. C. N. Watson; Levi to, Bro. A. Genet; Guardian, Bro. W. Cook.' As a recognition of tho services of Past Chief Rulers Bros. Watson and Marshall, x it was decided to present them with framed certificates. A motion of sympathy with Bra. W. J. Chaplin, in the death of his father, was carried in silence. , TRINITY CONGREGATIONAL CHURCH. A lecture on China was given in Trinity Hall on Wednesday, by the Rev. A. L. Cannon, who is on a visit to his parents in Christchurch. There was. a large attendance. The lecturer dealt with mission work in China, and ite growth, and the hold that medical work wae getting upon the people. In conclusion he touched upon the social life of the country. A hearty vote of thanks was proposed to' Mr Cannon, by Mr Wm. Bull, and seconded by Mr G. H. Hall. ' The chair was taken by. Air G. E. Franklin.
